There is nothing quite like a nighttime drive to see the Christmas lights in Okmulgee County and the surrounding areas.

Whether you are looking for a quick local loop or a short road trip to a world-class display, the 2025 season is glowing brighter than ever. Grab your travel mug of hot cocoa, turn up the holiday tunes, and follow this guide to the best holiday light displays near Okmulgee.

The Local Favorite: Downtown Okmulgee

Before heading out of town, start your tour right here in the heart of Okmulgee. While the Festival of Lights parade has passed, the millions of lights throughout the Historic Okmulgee Square remain lit every evening.
Take a slow drive down 6th Street to see the courthouse and the Historic Okmulgee Mansion in their full holiday glory. It’s a beautiful, free tradition that makes our town feel like a scene from a movie.

The Castle Christmas (Muskogee)

Just a 35-minute drive east, The Castle of Muskogee offers one of the most unique experiences in the state.
Known as Castle Christmas, this event features over 2,000 displays and one of the world's largest collections of holiday inflatables. You can drive through the grounds for a donation or enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride for a small fee.

The Rhema Lights (Broken Arrow)

For those who enjoy a walk-through experience, Rhema Christmas Lights in Broken Arrow is a must-see.
Located about 30 miles north of Okmulgee, this park is draped in over 3 million lights synchronized to music. It’s free to the public, though concessions and horse-drawn carriage rides are available for purchase. It’s a perfect spot for this year’s family holiday photo!

Jolly Lane Lights (Tulsa)

If you prefer to stay in the warmth of your car, head to the Admiral Twin Drive-In for Jolly Lane Lights.
This drive-through display allows you to tune your radio to a specific FM frequency so you can watch the lights "dance" in perfect time with the music.

The Chickasha Festival of Light

If you’re up for a bit more of a drive (about 1.5 hours), the Chickasha Festival of Light in Shannon Springs Park is nationally recognized. With over 3.5 million lights and a massive 172-foot Christmas tree, it is well worth the trip for a truly spectacular "Grand Finale" to your holiday season.
